Congratulations to Andy Eccles on his first solo in a Robinson R44 Raven 11 from all the team at Staffs Helis. The Raven 11 was introduced in 2002 featuring a more powerful, fuel-injected engine and wider blades, allowing a higher gross weight and improved altitude performance. In 1997, a Robinson R44 was piloted by Jennifer Murray for the first helicopter circumnavigation of the world by a woman, covering a distance of 36,000 miles in 97 days. In conjunction with Eon, ITV’s breakfast show Daybreak chartered a helicopter through Staffordshire Helicopters for a feature that will go to air on Thursday 30th September. The intrepid reporters took a flight from Tatenhill over The Midlands with a thermal imaging camera to show the relative heat loss from buildings as part of a nationwide energy campaign.
