Part of your helicopter flight training for the PPL(H) is a qualifying cross country flight with 2 landings away from your “home” base or starting point which must be 100nm (nautical miles)or more.  From our base in Staffordshire, Nottingham Airport in the East Midlands  and Sywell Aerodrome, again in the Midlands located near to Market Harborough are used. Green Helicopter Charter for ITV

In conjunction with Eon, ITV’s breakfast show Daybreak chartered a helicopter through Staffordshire Helicopters for a feature that will go to air on Thursday 30th September.  The intrepid reporters took a flight from Tatenhill over The Midlands with a thermal imaging camera to show the relative heat loss from buildings as part of a nationwide energy campaign.  The helicopter is a twin turbine Augusta 109 which makes a superb platform for aerial film work as well as a fabulous mode of transport !!!  Just an example of one of the many...
